About JIKF Instructors

Our instructors believe wholeheartedly in the Japan International Karate program, its instructional method, and its philosophy. They believe in it because they've experienced it first hand and understand how training in karate-do can make people stronger in mind, body, and spirit.

In addition to years of training under the program, Japan International Karate instructors meet other stringent requirements:

  • Black belt rank requirements for each title and level of responsibility
  • Passed a comprehensive technical exam
  • Participation in an Instructors Academy training program
  • Served as an assistant under a senior instructor
  • Continue to train and advance in karate-do

Additionally, JIKF instructors may also be technically certified or recognized by:

  • Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), organizers of the Junior Olympics
  • USA National Karate-do Federation (USANKF), member of the United States Olympic Committee
  • American Sport Education Program (ASEP), a division of Human Kinetics, educating sports coaches, officials, administrators, and parents
  • American Red Cross (providing first aid, CPR, and defibrillator training)
